Memory Loss Can Happen to Anyone

Comprehensive Treatment Programs
At the Memory Center, our personalized programs accurately identify and treat memory disorders through:
- A patient evaluation and questionnaire
- A review of the patients medical history and degree of memory loss
- Psychological and cognitive testing
- Physical exams and diagnostic testing
After a diagnosis by a multispecialty team of physicians, nurses, technicians and social workers, the Memory Center team creates a customized plan using a combination of medication, counseling and/or other resources. This treatment plan aims to reverse or stop the effects of memory loss and postpone the onset of a memory disorder.
Support Programs for Families and Caregivers
Because memory loss affects everyone, family members and caregivers are encouraged to participate in their loved ones evaluation and treatment. Specific support services are available, as well.
The Caregiver Support Program is taught by licensed professionals who understand the emotion and stress of caring for a loved one with a memory disorder. In addition to teaching coping skills and stress management, the Caregiver Support Program offers recommendations for optimum patient care, including meeting the patients personal needs, handling financial matters and hiring professional caregivers.
The Center also can provide referrals to community resources, including:
- Counseling
- Crisis intervention
- Education
- Legal referrals
- Medical screenings
- Support groups
All evaluations, treatments and classes are conducted in our warm and welcoming Memory Center. Transportation to and from the Center is available upon request. For more information about the Memory Center at Memorial Hospital Pembroke, please call (954) 963-8023.
