Caregiver Support Program at Memorial Hospital Pembroke
Caring for a loved one with a memory disorder can pose many unique challenges.
The purpose of the Caregiver Support Program is to provide information regarding:
- Causes of memory loss
- Tests used to diagnose memory disorders
- Methods for providing physical care for a loved one with memory loss
- Guidelines on how caregivers can care for themselves
The Caregiver Support Program provides this information through a series of two-hour educational sessions. Several of the sessions are appropriate for persons experiencing mild memory loss, as well as their family members and caregivers. Because of the nature of other topics, however, we suggest that only caregivers attend certain sessions.
